KAYAKING
:

The slow sweet water of the Chipola River along with its many limestone shoals and two rapids (one that drops four feet) makes kayaking a must do trip. This is one of the few places in Florida to enjoy whitewater. Bring a friend and have a fun adventure with lasting memories. We can outfit you in a single or tandem kayaks, also offer delivery and pickup services.

CANOEING:

Canoeing the Chipola River with a friend, family or large group is a great way to have fun while enjoying the natural beauty of nature at its best. The large Cypress trees, wildlife and limestone outcropping along the banks take you back in time. We have 3 different canoe trips to choose from lasting from 2-4, 4-6 or 6-8 hours. Bring a picnic and drift back to a forgotten Florida and see it as the natives viewed their world traveling downstream.

Trip #1. The Most Popular

Starts at Johnny Boy landing and ends at Lamb Eddy landing

This is about a 2 to 4 hour trip of leisure paddling time and stops along the way ( around 4 miles on the water). You may combine kayaks and canoes on this trip. We will deliver the kayaks and canoes to Johnny Boy Landing, once on the river the kayaks and canoes are yours for the rest of the day. There is no guide, you can set your own pace or let the river do the work for you, stop where and when you want. Be sure to bring food and drinks for that special picnic! The trip will take you over many limestone shoals and a white water rapid called Look and Tremble. You will pass by Bullet Bend and Horseshoe Bend, stop and snorkel or if you enjoy fly fishing try the numerous shoals for Shoal Bass and Bream along the way. Make sure to bring water shoes for the limestone shoals if you choose to venture out on foot.

Trip #2. This trip is nature at its best

Starts at Peacock Bridge and ends at Lamb Eddy

This is about a 4 to 6 hour trip of leisure paddling time and stops along the way (around 10 miles on the water). Many limestone shoals, both Confederate and Look and Tremble sets of rapids along with Ring Jaw Island that has some swift water. No houses, a lot of wildlife, big Cypress trees and beauty at its best. Remember once you’re on the water the kayaks and canoes are yours for the day! Don't forget to bring food and drinks for a refreshing picnic on the banks, “bring trash bags for litter”. If you need to cut the trip short you can get picked up at Johnny Boy Landing which you will pass on the way to your exit point at Lamb Eddy, the end of the trip. Remember 6:00pm is the last pick up point from all landings. Shuttle runs every hour from 9:00am-6:00pm.

Trip #3.  All day trip-

Starts at Peacock Bridge ends at the Hwy 20 Bridge in Clarksville

This is a full day kayak or canoe trip. This is about a 6 to 8 hour trip of paddling, not a lot of stop time. You will see and experience all that trips 1 and 2 offer plus more. It is around 15 miles on the water, the longest run between Lamb Eddy and the Highway 20 Bridge. You can stop and exit at Johnny Boy or Lamb Eddy Landings if you have spent too much time stopping along the way. Remember 6:00pm is the last pick up point from all landings.
